1.) Have a Kids Table

By having a kids table, you're ensuring all the kiddos have an assortment of things to do, and somewhere to do them. Most couples place kids at the guest tables with their parents, and while this is a good idea, you should also have a seperate table designated to all the children coming. This ensures they have their own space to play, color, talk, and hang out. If the kids like this table, they can even eat their dinner here together while they play, and snack on the appetizers and late night snacks throughout the night.

Somethings you can include at the kids table are: coloring books, puzzles, card games, mini games like jenga, etc.

2.) Include Them on the Dance Floor

Let's be honest, kids love to dance, so we'll want to find ways to include them on your dance floor by adding glowsticks, bubble guns, light up foam wands, etc. If you’re ok with it, the DJ can even play some kid friendly songs in the beginning to get the kids groovin on the dance floor, because we all know the kiddos will be the first ones dancing anyways!

3.) Have a Kid Friendly Drinks and Snacks

We want to make sure all the little ones feel included on the wedding day, so this might mean including some kid friendly snacks and drinks for them throughout the day. Because be honest, do you think your little ones would eat caprese skewers or mini ceviche from the appetizer table? Probably not, so let’s give them something else to munch on.

This can be mini bags of chips, pretzels, fruit snacks, etc.

4.) Include a Photobooth

Kids LOVE photobooths! Everytime a kid friendly wedding has one, I know the kiddos will be entertained for hours; especially if you have props for the photobooth! If you want to include kids at your wedding but you aren’t sure how to entertain them, I guarentee that if you get a photo booth they’ll be taking pictures all night long. For the kid friendly weddings with photo booths, I don’t even think I’ve seen the kids leave the photo booth throughout the reception. If they could, they’d take pictures all night long!

5.) Make Sure They Have Plenty of Activities

This goes hand in hand with points number 1 and 4, but it’s true. Kids can get easily bored at weddings if there’s not enough for them to do. If you have a kids table and a photo booth, consider also getting some yard games. If the weather is nice, kids also like to go outside and play, especially if you have giant jenga or a cornhole board for them to play with! This helps ensure all the kiddos have plenty to do throughout the reception, so their parents can let their hair down and party with you throughout the night!
