Little Lights on the Lane Wedding, Hailey & Jamison
Hailey and Jamison’s wedding day at Little Lights on the Lane was filled with romantic details, gorgeous summer scenery, and so many moments that felt completely true to them. Located just outside of Iowa City, Little Lights on the Lane provided the perfect setting for their elegant Iowa wedding, combining a modern reception space with beautiful outdoor areas and sprawling countryside views.
The couple chose a soft, romantic color palette that complemented the venue beautifully. Hailey’s bridesmaids wore deep sage green dresses in a variety of styles, paired with bouquets filled with soft blush, ivory, peach, and greenery. Hailey looked stunning in her lace wedding gown, while Jamison kept things timeless in a classic dark suit. Together, every detail created an elevated garden-inspired look that felt right at home against the natural landscape surrounding the venue.
One of the things we love most about a Little Lights on the Lane wedding is how many different backdrops couples have without ever needing to leave the property. From the beautifully landscaped grounds and hydrangeas to the open fields at sunset, Hailey and Jamison had no shortage of incredible locations for their wedding portraits. The venue's floor-to-ceiling windows also allowed those gorgeous Iowa views to become part of the reception itself as the sun began to set.
Their celebration was also full of personality. From getting ready with their closest friends and a beautiful outdoor ceremony to sunset portraits, dancing, and plenty of laughter during the reception, Hailey and Jamison created a day that felt both elegant and incredibly fun. We especially loved seeing those playful moments come out once the reception began—because the best wedding days aren't just beautiful; they're a reflection of the people being celebrated.
As Iowa wedding planners, we love seeing couples take an already stunning venue and make it completely their own. Hailey and Jamison’s Little Lights on the Lane wedding in West Branch, Iowa was the perfect combination of timeless romance, modern details, and a relaxed summer celebration, and we’re so excited to share more from their beautiful wedding day!

Located in West Branch, Iowa, just outside of Iowa City, this modern wedding venue offers the perfect combination of beautiful indoor spaces, picturesque outdoor scenery, and thoughtful amenities that make a wedding day feel both elevated and relaxed. As Iowa wedding planners, it’s always exciting to work at a venue that gives couples so many opportunities to create a celebration that truly feels like their own.
One of our favorite things about a Little Lights on the Lane wedding is the versatility of the property. The venue is surrounded by gorgeous Iowa countryside, giving couples endless options for portraits without ever having to leave the grounds. Between the open fields, lush landscaping, hydrangeas, and beautiful architecture, there is always another stunning backdrop around the corner. And when golden hour arrives, the surrounding fields create some seriously dreamy wedding photos!
The reception space is another reason Little Lights on the Lane is one of our favorite Iowa City area wedding venues. The modern interior provides a beautiful blank canvas that can work with so many different wedding styles and color palettes. The large windows bring in plenty of natural light during the day while allowing guests to enjoy views of the surrounding property throughout dinner and into the evening. Once the sun goes down and the lights come on, the space transforms into an incredible setting for dancing and celebrating.
From a wedding planning perspective, we also love venues where couples can spend so much of their wedding day in one location. Having spaces for getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, cocktail hour, and reception all on the same property helps create a smoother wedding-day timeline and gives couples more time to actually enjoy the celebration instead of traveling between locations. It also makes the experience easier for guests!
For couples searching for a modern wedding venue near Iowa City, Little Lights on the Lane offers the best of both worlds: a polished, contemporary venue surrounded by peaceful Iowa scenery. Hailey and Jamison’s wedding was such a beautiful example of how this West Branch wedding venue can be transformed to fit a couple’s vision, and we’re always excited when we get the opportunity to return to Little Lights on the Lane for another Iowa wedding.
Getting Ready at Little Lights on the Lane
The morning of Hailey and Jamison’s wedding began right at Little Lights on the Lane, where Hailey spent the morning getting ready alongside her bridesmaids. Having a beautiful, dedicated space to get ready at the venue made the start of the day feel relaxed and gave everyone plenty of time to enjoy those little moments together before the ceremony began.
Hailey and her bridesmaids wore matching neutral pajama sets, while Hailey stood out in a classic white set. We love coordinating getting-ready outfits because they make for such cute photos while also creating a fun little experience for the bridal party. Between hair and makeup, drinks on the balcony, and plenty of laughter, their morning felt like the perfect start to a summer Little Lights on the Lane wedding.
The getting-ready spaces are also one of the many reasons we love this West Branch, Iowa wedding venue. Being able to get ready onsite eliminates unnecessary travel and makes the wedding-day timeline so much easier. Instead of worrying about transportation between a hotel, ceremony, and reception, everyone can settle in and enjoy the morning knowing that everything they need is right there on the property.
From a photography standpoint, Little Lights on the Lane also provides so many beautiful options for wedding getting-ready photos near Iowa City. Hailey and her bridesmaids were able to step outside onto the balcony for bright, natural-light portraits, giving them a completely different backdrop without ever leaving the venue. These relaxed photos with your closest friends often end up being some of our favorites from the entire wedding gallery!
Simple & Sentimental Wedding Décor at Little Lights on the Lane
Hailey and Jamison opted for a more simple and romantic approach to their Little Lights on the Lane wedding décor, allowing the natural beauty of the venue to do a lot of the talking. Their reception tables featured warm wood tones topped with soft white chiffon runners, creating an effortless, airy look that complemented the modern style of this West Branch, Iowa wedding venue beautifully.
Down the center of each table, we spread out pillar candles and delicate bud vases to add just the right amount of detail without overwhelming the space. Each seat was finished with a full place setting featuring a classic white dinner plate, gold silverware, and a glass water goblet. The combination of white, gold, greenery, and natural wood created a timeless look that felt elegant while still maintaining the relaxed atmosphere Hailey and Jamison wanted for their wedding reception.
But our absolute favorite detail had to be their personalized wedding table numbers! Instead of traditional numbered signs, Hailey and Jamison turned every table into a little piece of their love story. Their tables were numbered from one through 24, and each number featured childhood photos of both Hailey and Jamison at that particular age. At table six, for example, guests got to see photos of the bride and groom when they were both six years old. How cute is that?!
We LOVE when couples find ways to incorporate personal details like this into their wedding design. Not only did the table numbers serve a practical purpose, but they also gave guests something fun to look at and talk about throughout dinner. Guests could walk from table to table and essentially watch Hailey and Jamison grow up through photos, making such a simple piece of décor feel incredibly meaningful.
The bridal party
Hailey and Jamison’s bridal party brought the perfect combination of rich color and timeless elegance to their Little Lights on the Lane wedding. Hailey’s bridesmaids wore gorgeous emerald green dresses in a variety of styles, allowing each bridesmaid to choose a silhouette that felt comfortable and flattering while still creating a beautifully cohesive look.
The emerald green was such a stunning choice for their Iowa summer wedding. The deeper green tones stood out beautifully against the bright outdoor scenery at Little Lights on the Lane while still complementing the natural greenery surrounding the venue. Paired with bouquets filled with soft pink, peach, white, and green florals, the overall color palette felt romantic, elegant, and perfect for the season.
We especially loved the contrast between the bridesmaids’ emerald green dresses and Hailey’s white lace wedding gown. Having the bridal party in a rich, darker color made Hailey stand out even more in their group portraits, while the softer florals helped tie everything together. It’s a great example of how couples can incorporate a bold wedding color palette without overpowering the rest of their design.
Little Lights on the Lane also provided so many gorgeous locations for their bridal party portraits. From the modern exterior of the venue to the lush landscaping and open Iowa countryside, Hailey and Jamison were able to capture so much variety without ever leaving the property. Their emerald green bridal party looked incredible against every backdrop and added another beautiful element to their romantic Little Lights on the Lane wedding in West Branch, Iowa.
A Meaningful Outdoor Ceremony at Little Lights on the Lane
Hailey and Jamison’s ceremony was such a beautiful part of their Little Lights on the Lane wedding day. Surrounded by their closest family and friends and the gorgeous Iowa countryside, the two exchanged vows during an outdoor ceremony that felt romantic, personal, and completely true to them. The natural setting at Little Lights on the Lane in West Branch, Iowa created the perfect backdrop, allowing their florals and emerald green wedding color palette to stand out while still keeping the overall design soft and timeless.
One of our favorite details from their ceremony was the couple’s decision to incorporate a sand unity ceremony. During the ceremony, Hailey and Jamison each poured their own sand into a shared vessel, combining the two colors together as a symbol of their lives officially becoming one. Once the grains of sand are mixed together, they can never truly be separated again, making it such a sweet representation of marriage and the life they were beginning together.
We love when couples incorporate a unity ceremony into their wedding because it adds another personal moment beyond exchanging vows and rings. Whether it’s a sand ceremony, unity candle, handfasting, or another tradition entirely, these little additions can make an Iowa wedding ceremony feel even more meaningful. Plus, Hailey and Jamison were able to take their sand vessel home afterward, giving them a keepsake from their wedding day that they can display and cherish for years to come.
Their Little Lights on the Lane outdoor wedding ceremony was the perfect combination of beautiful scenery, thoughtful details, and sentimental moments. From their vows to their sand unity ceremony and finally being pronounced husband and wife, it was such a heartfelt start to the celebration—and the perfect transition into the rest of their summer wedding day in West Branch, Iowa.
A Fun-Filled Reception at Little Lights on the Lane
After officially becoming husband and wife, it was time for Hailey and Jamison to celebrate! Their Little Lights on the Lane wedding reception was the perfect continuation of their day, bringing everyone inside the venue for an evening filled with dinner, laughter, dancing, and plenty of memorable moments with their closest family and friends.
One of the things we love most about receptions at Little Lights on the Lane in West Branch, Iowa is the venue’s modern reception space. The bright white interior, polished floors, dramatic black-framed windows, and views of the surrounding Iowa countryside create such a beautiful backdrop. As the sun began to set, the string lights reflected through the windows and gave the entire room an extra romantic glow.
Hailey and Jamison kicked off their reception with some of the traditional wedding-day moments, including their first dance together as newlyweds. With their family and bridal party surrounding them, the two took over the dance floor for a sweet first dance before the evening transitioned into even more fun. Their reception was a great example of how an Iowa wedding reception can balance sentimental moments with plenty of personality.
And speaking of personality—the shoe game was definitely a highlight! Hailey and Jamison sat back-to-back while answering questions about their relationship by holding up either their own shoe or their new spouse’s. It’s always such a fun reception activity because guests get to learn a little more about the newlyweds while seeing just how well their answers match. Judging by the smiles around the room, their guests loved every second of it!
A Sweet Twist on Wedding Dessert: A Dairy Queen Blizzard Bar
The cool summer breeze wasn’t the only thing helping guests cool off during Hailey and Jamison’s Little Lights on the Lane wedding reception! Instead of serving a traditional wedding cake, the couple treated their guests to something a little more personal—and a lot more fun—a Dairy Queen Blizzard bar.
This dessert choice was especially meaningful because Hailey’s parents own a Dairy Queen, making the Blizzard bar more than just a fun wedding treat. It was another way for Hailey and Jamison to incorporate a piece of their family into their wedding day. Guests could grab a Blizzard and enjoy a sweet treat while celebrating the newlyweds, and it was definitely a detail that stood out from the typical wedding dessert table.
They even made the experience their own with signature Blizzards, featuring a favorite flavor for both the bride and groom. We love details like this because they give guests another little glimpse into the couple while creating an interactive element everyone can enjoy. And, of course, Hailey and Jamison had to sneak away for a few bites of ice cream together!
For couples planning a summer wedding in Iowa, an ice cream or Blizzard bar is such a fun alternative to traditional wedding cake—especially for an outdoor celebration. Between the personal family connection and the unexpected dessert choice, Hailey and Jamison’s Dairy Queen Blizzard bar was one of those details guests will remember long after their Little Lights on the Lane wedding is over.
From the quiet moments of getting ready in the morning to the packed dance floor at the end of the night, Hailey and Jamison’s Little Lights on the Lane wedding was filled with so many personal details that made their celebration completely their own. Their emerald green wedding color palette, romantic florals, meaningful sand unity ceremony, personalized table numbers, and signature Dairy Queen Blizzard bar all came together to create a day that felt thoughtful, beautiful, and incredibly fun.
One of our favorite things about Hailey and Jamison’s wedding was how they found ways to incorporate their personalities and their story throughout the entire celebration. Their table numbers featuring childhood photos from each age were such a sweet way to share a little bit of their lives with their guests, while the Dairy Queen Blizzard bar added a fun family connection and an unexpected alternative to traditional wedding cake. Those are the kinds of details that transform a beautiful wedding into one guests truly remember.

From its beautiful getting-ready spaces and outdoor ceremony setting to the modern reception space and gorgeous Iowa countryside for portraits, there were so many different backdrops to enjoy throughout the day.
