Wilson’s Orchard & Farm Wedding, Maddy & Jackson

Maddy and Jackson’s wedding at Wilson’s Orchard and Farm outside Iowa City, Iowa, was filled with soft color, heartfelt moments, and the relaxed beauty of an Iowa countryside celebration. Surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery, their wedding blended the rustic character of the venue with an elegant spring-inspired design. A palette of soft blue, peach, cream, and fresh greenery brought a romantic touch to the day, while the natural wood tones of the venue created the perfect backdrop for their celebration.

Their wedding party carried the color palette beautifully, with bridesmaids in airy light-blue dresses paired alongside classic black suits. Bouquets filled with peach and blue blooms added just the right amount of color, creating a look that felt fresh, romantic, and perfectly suited for an outdoor wedding near Iowa City. Even beneath an overcast Iowa sky, the soft natural light and surrounding countryside made for gorgeous wedding portraits.

Inside, the design continued with long wooden tables, delicate floral arrangements, and an abundance of candlelight. Peach, cream, and blue flowers softened the rustic interior of the venue, while simple place settings allowed the florals and natural beauty of the space to take center stage. The result was an elegant Wilson’s Orchard wedding that felt elevated without losing the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes this venue so special.

From emotional moments during the ceremony to a reception filled with family, friends, and beautiful details, Maddy and Jackson’s day was a wonderful example of why we love Wilson’s Orchard weddings. For couples searching for an Iowa City wedding venue, Wilson’s Orchard offers a unique combination of countryside scenery, modern rustic charm, and versatile indoor and outdoor spaces—all just outside Iowa City.

As Iowa wedding planners serving Iowa City and Eastern Iowa, we loved seeing every detail of Maddy and Jackson’s vision come together. Their celebration was romantic, colorful, and personal, creating the kind of wedding day that felt just as meaningful as it was beautiful.

The venue offers such a beautiful combination of natural Iowa scenery and warm, rustic charm, giving couples a setting that feels relaxed while still being elevated enough for an elegant wedding celebration. Surrounded by rolling hills, orchards, and open countryside, it’s hard to find a bad backdrop for photos!

One of our favorite things about a Wilson’s Orchard wedding is how versatile the space can be. The warm wood tones and large windows inside the venue create a beautiful blank canvas that works with so many different wedding styles and color palettes. Couples can embrace the rustic surroundings or completely transform the space with florals, candles, linens, and personalized décor. Maddy and Jackson’s soft blue, peach, and cream palette is the perfect example of how romantic and refined the space can feel.

We also love how naturally the wedding day can flow at Wilson’s Orchard. Having beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces gives couples options throughout the day while allowing guests to enjoy the peaceful countryside setting. From wedding party portraits overlooking the property to dinner and dancing inside, each part of the celebration can have its own atmosphere without guests needing to travel between multiple locations.

A Timeless Blue Wedding Party

Maddy and Jackson’s wedding party brought the perfect mix of classic elegance and soft spring color to their Wilson’s Orchard wedding near Iowa City. The bridesmaids wore beautiful powder-blue gowns in a variety of silhouettes, allowing each person to showcase their individual style while still creating a cohesive look. Paired with the groomsmen’s classic black suits, the soft blue added just the right amount of color against the natural greenery and rolling countryside surrounding Wilson’s Orchard.

The bridesmaids’ bouquets tied the entire wedding color palette together with a romantic mixture of peach, soft blue, cream, and white florals. The peach blooms added warmth against the blue dresses, while touches of blue throughout the bouquets created a seamless connection between the florals and wedding party attire. Maddy’s bouquet followed the same garden-inspired style while standing out with its fuller arrangement and beautiful peach tones.

We especially love how this color palette photographed at an outdoor Iowa wedding venue. The soft blue dresses looked beautiful against the green landscape, while the black suits added contrast and kept the overall look feeling timeless and sophisticated. Even under an overcast sky, the pastel colors brought brightness and warmth to their wedding portraits.

Beyond the beautiful attire, Maddy and Jackson’s wedding party brought so much personality and energy to the day. From the classic group portraits to the candid celebrations surrounding the newlyweds, you can immediately see how excited their closest friends were to be part of such an important moment.

The combination of light blue bridesmaid dresses, black suits, and peach-and-blue wedding flowers complemented the rustic beauty of Wilson’s Orchard perfectly and helped create a romantic, elevated Iowa City wedding from beginning to end.

Wilson’s Orchard Wedding Ceremony

While Wilson’s Orchard can do inside or outside wedding ceremonies, most couples choose to get married outside infront of the venues built in wood arch. Surrounded by old oak trees that naturally shade the area, it’s a beautiful spot to share your vows, and feels immensley intimate and private.

Maddy and Jackson’s ceremony was held outside at the Wilson’s Orchard ampitheater, and the couple opted to have their bridal party sit during the ceremony rather than have them stand the whole time. The colors of the wedding were a beautiful contrast against all the greenery in the ampitheater, and really made all the photos pop!

Wilson’s Orchard Wedding Reception

The reception space sits below the restaurant, yet is very secluded for private events. With a rustic barn wood aesthetic, the space has a warm and intimate feel that guests love! One of my favorite features of the reception space, is their hanging edison bulbs that are draped throughout the room. It’s a beautiful feature to have during the reception, and it makes for a magical feeling (and photos) when it comes to your first dance!

After the ceremony, guests walked up to the venue for cocktail hour while the bride and groom went off to take more photos. Shortly after they had their grand entrance, cake cutting, and dances all before dinner was served! Wilson’s Orchard had a plated meal delivered to each guest, and it was oh so delicious! After dinner we kicked off the dancing with mother son and father daughter dancing.

Romantic Spring Wedding Décor at Wilson’s Orchard

The décor and florals truly brought Maddy and Jackson’s Wilson’s Orchard wedding to life. Their reception design embraced the natural warmth and rustic character of the venue while incorporating soft, romantic details that made the space feel elevated and intentional. Tiffany with Studio Bloom filled the tables with delicate bud vases featuring a beautiful mixture of peach, blue, cream, and white flowers, and I followed behind with pillar candles in glass hurricanes to add warmth and dimension. The combination was simple yet incredibly impactful, creating an elegant garden-inspired tablescape without taking away from the beauty of Wilson’s Orchard itself.

One of our favorite features of a Wilson’s Orchard wedding reception is the gorgeous barnwood tables and black industrial chairs provided by the venue. The rich wood tones paired beautifully with Maddy and Jackson’s pastel florals, while the black chairs added just enough contrast to give the design a slightly modern edge. Rather than covering the tables with linens, we allowed the natural wood to become part of the design, using white linen napkins draped at each place setting to soften the overall look.

Wilson’s Orchard also takes care of setting the reception floor plan, which means there is one less major setup task for couples to worry about on their wedding day. Because the venue provides onsite catering, their team also sets each table with white linen napkins, silverware, glassware, and water carafes. And, as I’m sure you know by now, I am always a big fan of a full place setting! Filling each seat with the necessary dinnerware instantly makes a reception table feel more complete, polished, and elevated—even before adding florals and candles.

From the soft blue bridesmaid dresses and colorful spring florals to the candlelit reception inside the barn, Maddy and Jackson’s wedding was such a beautiful celebration from beginning to end. Every detail felt intentional while still maintaining the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes a Wilson’s Orchard wedding so special. Their palette of peach, blue, cream, and white brought just the right amount of color to the rustic setting and created a wedding design that felt romantic, timeless, and perfectly suited for the season.

More than anything, their day was centered around celebrating with the people they love most. From emotional moments during the ceremony to laughter with their wedding party and an evening spent gathered around beautifully set tables, Maddy and Jackson’s wedding was filled with the moments that make all of the planning worthwhile. Their celebration was a wonderful reminder that the most memorable weddings are not only beautiful—they feel personal to the couple and create an incredible experience for their guests.

For couples searching for an Iowa City wedding venue, Wilson’s Orchard offers such a unique combination of countryside scenery, rustic charm, and an elevated reception space.
