With options for both an outdoor wedding ceremony and indoor reception, couples can create completely different experiences throughout their wedding day without asking guests to travel between multiple locations.
The outdoor ceremony space provides a beautiful open backdrop of the surrounding Iowa countryside. Because the scenery is already so picturesque, couples can keep their ceremony décor simple or completely transform the space with florals, an arbor, aisle décor, and other personalized details. Lupe and Abraham’s ceremony was the perfect example—their floral-covered white arbor framed the landscape beautifully while still allowing those expansive views to shine.
Inside, the Rolling Meadows Event Center reception space is bright, open, and incredibly easy to customize. The white walls, high ceilings, statement chandeliers, and abundance of natural light provide a neutral foundation that works with so many different wedding styles and color palettes. For Lupe and Abraham’s reception, we brought in romantic blush tones, gold accents, natural wood chairs, candlelight, and soft florals, which completely transformed the room while still complementing the venue itself.
From a wedding planning and design perspective, we also love venues that give us room to get creative. Lupe’s details were truly some of my favorites to date. I absolutely loved her use of soft pastels paired with bold pops of chartreuse—it was such a refreshing and unexpected combination that made the entire light, airy aesthetic come to life in the most beautiful way.
One of my favorite personal touches was her choice to use her shoes as her “something blue”—such a sweet and stylish nod to tradition! You know the saying: “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” We don’t often see brides incorporating all the elements of this tradition anymore, so it’s always a delightful surprise when one does—especially in such a thoughtful and modern way.
Getting Ready at Rolling Meadows Event Center
One of the benefits of hosting your wedding at Rolling Meadows Event Center is being able to begin your wedding day right at the venue. The onsite bridal suites and getting-ready spaces give couples and their wedding parties a dedicated place to settle in, get dressed, and enjoy those exciting hours leading up to the ceremony without having to coordinate travel between multiple locations.
Having an onsite bridal suite at an Iowa wedding venue also makes the wedding-day timeline so much easier. Hair and makeup, detail photos, getting dressed, bridal portraits, and those emotional final moments with family and friends can all happen before simply stepping out for the ceremony. Less transportation means more time to relax and actually enjoy the morning!

The wedding decor at Rolling Meadows Event Center
Lupe and Abraham’s reception decor at Rolling Meadows Event Center was the perfect combination of romantic, garden-inspired details and timeless elegance. With the venue’s bright white walls, soaring ceilings, exposed beams, and statement chandeliers as the backdrop, we were able to bring in soft color, warm wood tones, lush greenery, and touches of gold to create a reception design that felt elevated while still being incredibly inviting.
One of our favorite elements of this Iowa wedding reception design was the mix of table styles throughout the room. Long banquet tables were dressed in crisp white linens with textured blush runners, gold chargers, taper candles, and petite floral arrangements. The natural wood cross-back chairs added warmth to the space and complemented the softer blush, ivory, and greenery color palette beautifully.
For the round guest tables, we incorporated patterned botanical linens to bring another layer of color and texture into the design. Tall gold centerpiece stands allowed the lush floral arrangements to make a statement without overwhelming the tables or blocking guests’ views. The arrangements featured plenty of greenery paired with soft pink, blush, ivory, and neutral-toned blooms, creating a romantic garden-inspired wedding aesthetic inside the modern Rolling Meadows reception space.
We especially love how the combination of tall and low centerpieces created visual interest throughout the room. Mixing centerpiece heights is one of our favorite ways to make a large wedding reception at Rolling Meadows Event Center feel intentional and dimensional without every table looking exactly the same.
The Wedding Ceremony at Rolling Meadows Event Center
Your wedding ceremony is one of the most meaningful moments of your entire wedding day, and choosing a space that feels beautiful without needing an overwhelming amount of decor can make all the difference. The outdoor ceremony space at Rolling Meadows Event Center offers exactly that. Surrounded by expansive Iowa countryside views, the space creates a peaceful and romantic setting for couples to exchange vows while still giving them plenty of opportunities to personalize the ceremony to fit their wedding design.
For Lupe and Abraham’s Rolling Meadows Event Center wedding, the forecast called for a little rain—and, naturally, it decided to arrive right as their ceremony began! Thankfully, we had planned ahead. Lupe and Abraham provided white parasols for their guests, keeping everyone more comfortable while also creating one of our favorite visual details from the entire day. The sea of white parasols looked absolutely beautiful against the green Iowa landscape and added such an elegant, whimsical touch to their outdoor Iowa wedding ceremony.
When it came to the ceremony decor, we intentionally kept the design simple and allowed the scenery to do most of the work. The venue’s white ceremony arch was accented with lush greenery and romantic blush, pink, and ivory florals, tying the ceremony design into the rest of Lupe and Abraham’s wedding decor. Soft green ribbon was also added to the aisle chairs, while scattered flower petals provided one final delicate detail leading toward the altar.
A Cocktail Hour Filled with Music, Flavor & Personality
Cocktail hour is the perfect opportunity for guests to relax, mingle, and get excited for the celebration ahead. At Rolling Meadows Event Center, couples have the flexibility to create an indoor or outdoor cocktail hour experience, making it easy to customize this portion of the wedding day around the season, weather, and overall vision. The venue’s spacious outdoor patio is an especially beautiful option, with plenty of room for guests to grab a drink, enjoy appetizers, and spend time together before heading into the reception.
For Lupe and Abraham’s wedding at Rolling Meadows Event Center, cocktail hour was all about incorporating their personalities and creating a memorable experience for their guests. One of our favorite additions was the live mariachi band, which brought so much energy to the celebration! Rather than simply performing from one location, the musicians moved throughout the space and serenaded guests at their tables, creating such a fun and interactive atmosphere.
The couple also put their own spin on traditional wedding cocktail hour appetizers by bringing in a Mexican food truck to serve specialty snacks. We love when couples use their menu as another opportunity to personalize their wedding day, and this was the perfect example. Between the delicious food, live mariachi music, and time spent mingling with friends and family, their cocktail hour felt like its own celebration rather than simply a transition between the ceremony and reception.
The reception at Rolling Meadows Event Center
While Lupe and Abraham’s cocktail hour was already full of incredible food, live music, and personality, their Rolling Meadows Event Center wedding reception took the celebration to an entirely new level. From multiple live bands to an outfit change and dancing beneath the patio lights, nearly every part of their reception included a personal touch that kept guests entertained throughout the evening.
The celebration began with their mariachi band introducing the newlyweds into the reception before performing their first dance song. Having live musicians accompany such a meaningful moment made their first dance feel even more special and created a beautiful transition from cocktail hour into dinner. Guests settled into the reception space to enjoy the meal while the excitement of the evening continued to build.
After dinner, Lupe stepped away to freshen up and change into a second wedding dress before the couple made another grand entrance—but this one came with a surprise! In addition to their DJ and mariachi band, Lupe and Abraham brought in another live band from Chicago specifically to help kick off the dancing portion of their wedding reception.
The band followed the newlyweds into the reception as they were reintroduced, immediately bringing an entirely new energy into the room. Rather than heading straight to a traditional dance floor, Lupe and Abraham led their guests outside to the patio, with everyone encouraged to follow the couple and musicians along the way. Soon, the celebration had moved outdoors, where everyone danced together beneath the string lights.
From their romantic outdoor ceremony to a cocktail hour filled with mariachi music and incredible food, Lupe and Abraham’s wedding was a celebration that truly felt like them. Every part of their day incorporated thoughtful details, meaningful traditions, and memorable experiences for their guests—and their reception was the perfect way to bring it all together.

I booked Lauren as my day of coordinator. And when I tell you that she is one of my favorite people I have booked for our wedding!!! She made sure EVERYTHING was taken care of. We met monthly leading up the wedding and by time wedding rolled around she understood my vision, the vibes, everything and all without me having to tell her the day of. If I was ever nervous which was RARE because she made sure to always keep me reassured how everything will turn out well. I fully trusted she was taking care of everything behind the scenes as I was able to enjoy my morning with my girls getting ready ourselves without any of running around like crazy to get things ready. Even my mom told me how relaxed she was spending time with me even though she was ready to help out but Lauren already had it all covered and I loved knowing my loved ones could just sit back and enjoy the wedding with us. These truly are stress free and fully joyful memories from start to finish of our whole wedding day we will always have forever. Anyone that asks me what is one of the investments for the wedding I would recommend and I always say Lauren!!! She would be number 1 on my list that I believe made a world of a difference of a perfect day that went smoothly as ever due to her. Seriously couldn’t be happier.
